Perfekt – dann drehen wir die Stimmung runter und den Humor leicht rauf. Ein lockerer, ehrlicher Moment auf der Piste mit einem charmanten Bank-Fund mitten in der Diskussion. Los geht’s:
The Bench Break on Piste 8
We were standing at the top of Piste 8 in the Wildkogel Arena, a bit lost in conversation – or rather, in friendly disagreement. “Left or right?” “Down here or take the other lift?” No one quite sure, everyone convinced.
That’s when I saw it.
A bench. Just there, slightly off to the side, almost proudly emerging from the patchy snow. The kind of bench that usually hides under a proper winter. But this season? Not much snow – and suddenly, the mountains were showing their hidden gems.
Of course I had to go sit on it. While the debate about our next move continued, I just enjoyed the view. Wide open alpine landscape, peaks in the distance, and that crisp, fresh December air. The bench didn’t care who was right – it was just a perfect spot to take a breath.
❄️ Fun fact:
The Wildkogel Arena is known as the “balcony of the Hohe Tauern” – and even when the snow is missing, the views never disappoint. Plus: fewer skiers, more benches.
In the end, we found our way down – but the bench stayed with me. Sometimes the best discoveries happen when no one agrees where to go.
